It would seem that 1 year of quarantine have passed, but our friends, colleagues, business partners can still complain that it is impossible to master the chaos of work from home.
Surprise-surprise, homework skills are not innate, they are acquired. As Steven Pinker puts it: “.. Our natural state is ignorance. We can only learn from data, and as the data comes in, our state of knowledge and best practices will change”. Therefore, we also suggest not to take the complexity of remote work for granted. It is better to treat these difficulties as a temporary condition before acquiring leading remote skills.
Why “Homestranaut”? We thought that during the global quarantine on Earth all self-isolated people turned into homestranauts.
Just like astronauts, but at home. Both homestranauts and astronauts share the same abilities to work in self-isolation mode, communicating through the screens 24 hours a day and withstanding mental and physical pressure for a long period of time.
In the guide, we suggest not to focus on the external management lost during quarantine and to improve self skills of remote work.
